Job Description:
1. Stone Cutting and Fabrication
- Cut, grind, and polish natural or engineered stone (e.g. granite, marble) using machines and hand tools.
- Perform edge finishing, hole drilling, surface treatment, and bonding of stone components.
2. Technical Drawing Interpretation and Production Coordination
- Read and understand technical drawings and shop drawings to ensure accuracy in dimensions and structural requirements.
- Coordinate with design, engineering, and QC teams to meet quality and design specifications, especially when integrating with wood, metal, or glass components.
3. Quality Control
- Inspect the color, veining, polish level, thickness, and dimensional accuracy of processed stone.
- Ensure products are free of cracks, chips, voids, or warping.
- Conduct adhesion and bonding tests between stone pieces or between stone and other materials.
4. Machine Operation and Maintenance
- Operate stone processing machines such as bridge saws, edge polishers, and CNC machines.
- Perform routine maintenance and report equipment issues to supervisors.
5. Installation Support (Optional)
- Assist in installing stone components into furniture structures (e.g. countertops, vanities, decorative panels).
- Ensure proper fitting, alignment, and finishing at the installation site.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in stone fabrication and installation.
- Can work independently, handle complex details, lead a team, or assist in construction on-site.
- Hands-on experience in stone fabrication and finishing.
- Understanding of natural and engineered stone characteristics.
- Skilled in using tools and machines specific to stonework.
- Detail-oriented with high standards of craftsmanship.
- Physically fit with knowledge of workplace safety practices.
