Job Description
- Serve as the central point of contact and subject matter expert for all fabric and leather matters across the company.
- Ensure appropriate materials are sourced, approved, and delivered on time to support custom furniture projects.
- Collaborate closely with customers, design teams, and production to support design development and execution.
- Engage directly with customers during design and development phases to understand fabric and leather requirements.
- Provide expert guidance on material selection based on design intent, durability, compliance, and aesthetics.
- Manage fabric and leather selection, sampling, and approval processes with customers.
- Maintain and continuously expand the company’s fabric and leather materials library.
- Source fabrics and leathers globally to meet design, budget, and performance requirements.
- Handle procurement of fabrics and leathers for projects where materials are not customer-supplied.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, mills, and tanneries.
- Monitor vendor performance to ensure quality standards and on-time delivery.
- Ensure all fabrics and leathers comply with company standards and hospitality industry requirements.
- Oversee testing for durability, colorfastness, fire ratings, and other required performance criteria.
Requirements
- College or university graduate in any discipline
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile, Interior Design, Supply Chain or related field is preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in fabric, leather or materials management within furniture, interiors or hospitality industries
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, leathers, finishes and their applications in luxury furniture
- Strong sourcing and negotiation skills; established supplier network is an advantage
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or materials management systems is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with customers and internal teams
- Detail-oriented, proactive and solution-driven mindset
