Assistant to Group Sales Director

The Assistant to the Group Sales Director plays a strategic, commercial, and coordination role, acting as the right hand of the Group Sales Director across brand, residential projects, and hospitality contract business.
This role ensures sales execution excellence, cross-functional alignment, client readiness, and accurate commercial intelligence, enabling the Group Sales Director to focus on strategy, key accounts, and growth initiatives.
1. Sales Strategy Support & Execution
- Support the Group Sales Director in translating group sales strategy into actionable plans across:
- Residential OEM Clients
- Jonathan Charles International Business
- Hospitality & contract manufacturing (hotels, resorts, developers)
- Prepare sales performance dashboards, pipeline reports, and market analysis
- Track progress against annual sales targets, margins, and regional KPIs
- Assist in pricing strategy alignment between brand retail pricing and project-based costing models
2. Key Account & Project Coordination
- Act as a central coordination point for VIP clients, developers, hotel operators, designers, and consultants
- Support the preparation of:
- Client presentations
- Project proposals and commercial summaries
- Inter company Liaison
- Ensure timely follow-up on leads, quotations, and negotiations have been actioned by relevant department
- Maintain oversight of active project pipelines
3. Cross-Functional Liaison
- Coordinate with internal teams including:
- Product Development & Design
- Manufacturing & Production Planning
- Costing & Finance
- Supply Chain & Logistics
- Marketing & Brand
- Assist in resolving inter-departmental bottlenecks affecting client delivery
4. Brand & Market Intelligence
- Support brand positioning by ensuring all sales materials reflect:
- High-end brand values
- Design integrity
- Quality and craftsmanship standards
- Monitor:
- Competitor activity
- Market pricing benchmarks
- Hospitality and residential trends
- Provide insights to the Group Sales Director to support new market entry and product strategy
5. Sales Operations & Governance
- Maintain accurate CRM data, sales trackers, and contract documentation
- Assist in the review and coordination of:
- Commercial terms
- Payment schedules
- Margin approvals
- Ensure compliance with internal approval processes and commercial policies
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and quarterly business reviews
6. Executive Support to Group Sales Director
- Manage agendas, sales meetings, and key commercial reviews
- Prepare board-level presentations and executive summaries
- Coordinate international travel, trade fairs, client visits, and major project milestones
- Act as a trusted gatekeeper, prioritizing communications and initiatives
Commercial & Analytical
- Strong understanding of luxury furniture, contract manufacturing, and project-based sales
- Ability to interpret financial data, costing structures, and margin analysis
- Strong negotiation support and proposal development skills
Organizational & Communication
- Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Professional communication style suitable for C-suite, designers, and luxury clients
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, international environment
- Must be competent on computer-based systems for reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Interior Design Management, or related field
- 5–8 years’ experience in:
- Furniture manufacturing
- Luxury interiors
- Hospitality or contract project sales
- Prior experience supporting senior sales leadership strongly preferred
- Exposure to international markets and multicultural teams is a plus
- Sales pipeline accuracy and conversion support
- Timeliness and quality of proposals and commercial documentation
- Internal coordination effectiveness (reduced delays / escalations)
- Quality of executive reporting and decision support
- Client satisfaction and repeat business support
