Job Description
- Plan and organize the department in alignment with the company business plan and strategy.
- Lead the production team and optimize the use of resources (labor, machines & equipment, materials, and operating budgets) to achieve output, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Oversee the production process and develop production schedules.
- Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to meet delivery deadlines.
- Ensure products are produced on time and meet quality standards right the first time.
- Implement and take responsibility for health & safety measures across the production area.
- Ensure production is cost-effective; identify gaps and implement improvement solutions where needed.
- Check and ensure availability of human resources, materials, and utilities required for production.
- Estimate manhours and monitor actual labor costs vs. budget.
- Review and approve overtime requests within budget and in compliance with labor regulations.
- Review quality standards, technical requirements, and BOM before production starts.
- Ensure the right machines and equipment are used, operated correctly, and maintained in a timely manner.
- Monitor product standards and implement/maintain an effective quality control system.
- Maximize production performance while minimizing delays and disruptions.
- Manage work orders within lead time, labor cost, and materials budget.
- Identify improvement opportunities, lead and support continuous improvement projects.
- Prepare and review reports to provide a full picture of department operations and performance.
Requirements
- BA, BSc, or equivalent related degree.
- Strong background with professional training in production management or engineering.
- Knowledge of woodworking machines and production processes (wood components, panel production, sanding, assembly).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a foreign furniture manufacturer.
- Experience with CAD software, CNC machines, and industrialized production is preferred.
- Strong leadership and excellent people management skills.
- Good communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
- Proficient in keyboarding and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.
- Long-term commitment and strong objective-oriented mindset.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, handle pressure, and make critical decisions.
