HIGH POINT — Jonathan Charles’ new 35-piece Cambrio collection combines mid-century design elements along with 20th-century Danish and French influences, creating an informal yet sophisticated lifestyle look aimed at how consumers live today.
Included in the collection are 24 case and accent pieces and 11 upholstered seating options.
‘Casual’ has become synonymous with over-scaled, rustic, unrefined, but the Cambrio collection proves that informal can be urban, tasteful and comforting,” the company said in a statement announcing the release at this week’s High Point Market. “These are the qualities that homeowners crave in today’s ‘home-as-sanctuary’ environments.”
“Cambrio exudes a modern aesthetic with a casual vibe,” added Eric Graham, president of Jonathan Charles. “Affluent consumers are looking for a relaxed lifestyle that is not pinned to a particular era, geography or hierarchy. They want warmth, comfort, eye-catching style and the familiar wrapped in modern, informal forms.”
Signature pieces including a round dining table with a brass inlay along its radius edge, a desk and cocktail table that feature ivory leather inserts, and a round, glass top cocktail.
There is also a fully upholstered bed with an elongated oval bench and companion case pieces including a tall four-drawer chest;, a four-drawer, two-door dresser; and a two-drawer nightstand with open bottom shelf.
Other key wood pieces include a bar cabinet with two storage drawers and hand-painted doors with a custom cast brass door pull, an entertainment cabinet with a gallery railing and a four-door sideboard with natural rattan door fronts and mottled brass jewelry pulls. Nesting tables also feature natural rattan inlays.
The upholstery selection includes a sectional, an ottoman, a side chair, a lounge chair and a swivel chair. These are show in neutral tonal performance fabrics, the same as are offered on the upholstered bed and bed bench.
The Cambrio collection, along with the Toulouse and Barcelona collections unveiled earlier this summer, can be seen at the Jonathan Charles showroom at 200 N. Hamilton.
